How the 12 weeks are organizedClean Energy Lab — How this lab works: the 12-week journey across solar, wind, water, and storage, the weekly rhythm, and the four big questions.

A simple weekly rhythm (watch → read → discuss → build → reflect) and four energy arcs across the semester.

Week 1 · Solar · LearnWeek 1: Catching sunlight — how a solar panel turns light into electricity, with predict and discuss prompts and key vocabulary.

The first lesson: how sunlight becomes motion — with a "predict" prompt, discussion questions, and plain-language vocabulary.

Week 3 · Solar · CreateWeek 3: Build your solar-powered car — step-by-step build and a test checklist.

Not a one-afternoon kit: by Week 3 your child builds and tests a real solar car, like an engineer.

Week 2 · Solar · ContextWeek 2: Solar power on the move — what a solar car needs and how engineers think about design.

Between learning and building: what a moving solar system needs, and the questions real engineers ask.

Weeks 1–3 · Solar · ReflectSolar Arc Reflect: Light in, motion out — fair-test ideas, an observation chart, and journal prompts.

Closing the arc: children compare fair tests, record what they saw, and think like scientists.

After the solar arc, the same pattern repeats for wind (weeks 4–6), water (weeks 7–9), and energy storage (weeks 10–12) — each with its own hands-on build.

That was a real look inside 1 of 12 weeks.
